The best TI-84 calculator apps, compared.
Taculator 84, Graphing Calculator Pro⁸⁴, Calculate84, Calculate 84 AI, Wabbitemu and Desmos are the apps students actually consider. Taculator 84 is intended for use with the TI-84 Evo and TI-84 Plus CE; Calculate84 is a visual 84-style option too, but ads sit in its free personal tier. The right one depends on your device, your budget, and whether your class teaches on an 84-style handheld. Here's the full table — with the trade-offs we'd want to know ourselves, and full disclosure: two of these apps are ours.

Data as of September 2026, from the vendors' own listings. "Colors & themes" counts the keyboard looks each vendor advertises in its own listing. Taculator 84 and Graphing Calculator Pro⁸⁴ are made by us (Di Venisco); Calculate84, Calculate 84 AI, Wabbitemu and Desmos are products of their respective owners. TI-84® is a trademark of Texas Instruments Incorporated; none of these apps is affiliated with TI. Phone and tablet apps are not permitted on the SAT or ACT — all of these are study tools; Desmos is additionally built into the digital SAT's testing app. Spotted something outdated? The only 84 keypad that comes in your color.
Every other calculator in this comparison ships with exactly one look. Taculator 84 has 14 keyboard themes — tap one and watch the keypad change, exactly like in the app. As of July 2026, no other app in this table advertises keyboard themes.
Which one should you pick?
Your class teaches on TI-84 style handhelds
Taculator 84. An independent graphing calculator app intended for use with the TI-84 Evo and TI-84 Plus CE. Overhauled 2026 menus and MathPrint input, same keypad logic from class — y=, window, zoom, trace, graph — so it stays an easy replacement when a physical Evo, Plus CE or Casio handheld is not nearby. The only one that follows you across iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, with no ads. Calculate84 is visually close, but ads sit in its free personal tier.
You want to pay once and own everything
Graphing Calculator Pro⁸⁴ — one-time purchase, every feature included, no subscription, no ads, no in-app purchases. It's made by our team, for people who simply want to buy a calculator once — like the handheld, minus most of its price.
You just want a great free graphing tool
You have two solid free options. Taculator 84's graphing is completely free — plotting, tracing, zooming cost nothing; only the advanced Pro functions are paid. So if you want free graphing with the familiar 84 keypad, start there. Desmos is also free and excellent — its edge is SAT practice, since it's the calculator built into the digital SAT's testing app; its trade-off is that it doesn't use the TI-84 workflow your class may run on.
You own a TI calculator and want the exact same OS on your PC
Wabbitemu. It emulates the real TI operating system, which nothing else here does. The trade-offs: you need to create a ROM image from your own calculator, there's no iOS version, and it feels like the emulator it is rather than a native app.
You're a school outfitting managed iPads
Taculator 84 EDU — completely free for schools and districts, full feature set with no ads in any tier, and the only option that also covers Android tablets and Macs in mixed-device districts. Request access with your Apple Organization ID and deploy via MDM. How Taculator 84 EDU works.
Free to try. Familiar in the first minute.
